Happy New Year everyone! This is a reminder to let you know the contest ends tomorrow. It ends at midnight tonight, GMT. It's 4:13pm GMT now.
So far, we've received 12 entries. You can see them in the group's gallery in the contest folder. I'm glad we received 6 of them since our last update! Good luck!

To point out: This contest isn't about who can draw the best looking Gazette member, but it's a contest about the most good looking, creative outfit that a member would actually wear. So it's all about imagining yourself being their fashion designer although your task won't to make the suits but to draw an idea for it. I hope that's clear.
So please, don't send us bunny suits or something like that. Even so, I think there are a lot of options, just be creative and consider their previous appearances and Japanese fashion as a small guide. If you have any more questions about this please ask!

NEW CONTEST IS FINALLY HERE! The theme is: Create a new look for the GazettE
Sorry it took me so long.

Let's go straight to it.


General rules:

You have to be a member to enter.

The entry has to be a new deviation uploaded to deviantART after today's date (November 1st).

One entry per member allowed.

Media: traditional & digital art(no photomanipulations, see 'other rules' ).

Voting: Starts after the deadline and it's done by members. Voting ends after a week.

The participants HAVE TO vote(not for themselves, of course) or their entry will be DISQUALIFIED!

Deadline: January 2nd

About the entries rules:

Since bands like the GazettE change their appearance very often, it's up to you for this contest to design a new styling for them.

It can be their new outfits only or you can give them new hairstyles too - your choice.

You can make the designs for the whole band or for your favorite member only - again, your choice.

You can draw the clothing only or them wearing it. If you choose not to draw them but want to create new hairstyles for them the same rule applies - draw the person or just the hair.

You can choose to create new clothing only or both clothes and hair. However, you can't choose hair only!

You can make close-ups of accessories and other details in the same entry too.

The clothing designs shouldn't be comical - we didn't have that in mind. It should be something they would actually wear. Just imagine what it would be like if you could be their fashion designer.


Other rules(what is & what is not allowed):

No photomanipulations allowed! You can't just alter their old look, it has to be completely new.

Textures, patterns, brushes and so on are, however, allowed for digital art.

You can use photographs for the background only.


How to submit your entry:

1. Join if you haven't already.

2. Read all of the rules carefully.

3. Submit your entry to the 'Create a New Look for the GazettE contest' folder in our gallery, here it is [link] The contest entries won't wait in the submission queue.

4. You need to write in your 'artist's comment' box (deviation description) that it is a contest entry (just so I'd know it's really an entry and that you didn't submit to the contest folder by accident cause it happens).

Note: This contest theme is chosen but members in the voting that was on sometime ago. This theme is suggested by ~haneMIsaki and she is allowed to enter if she wants even though she's one of the admins - I will be the one counting the votes
The next contest theme will be the one with the most votes after this one - I will not reveal which one of course

The submission bug seems to be stopped but now we have a new problem - people keep submitting to the wrong folder! I get a lot of deviations submitted to the 'Create a New Look for the GazettE contest' folder and they are not entries! They will all be DENIED unless they are not really entries. We have only two of them so far.

I think I know what the problem is so let me explain EXACTLY how you have to submit so this wouldn't keep happening.

The problem is that people probably don't enter the folder they want to contribute their art to; they just click on the + button straight away when they enter the gallery, without clicking on any of the folders. Therefore, the deviation goes to the first folder submissions are allowed for, in this case the one for the contest entries.

That's why I would like to ask you to be careful and to do it this way: When you enter the gallery click on the name of the folder you want your art to be submitted to FIRST, and THEN click on the + (contribute art to the gallery) button.

I hope I made it clear now!

This is the journal that is going to be linked in every other journal so you can easily find it.

Submission rules:

No more than 3 submissions a day per member!
The first 5 submissions from the ones we receive will be accepted a day. That means your deviation might have to wait a bit in the queue but it will be submitted eventually so don't worry about that.


How to submit:

All you need to do is to go to our gallery and find the folder you want your deviation to be submitted to. Enter that folder by clicking on its name(THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE OTHERWISE IT WILL BE SUBMITTED TO THE WRONG FOLDER). Than on the top of it(in the top right corner) find a button with a + on it that says 'contribute art'. Click on it and then select your entry in the window that will appear.

You are allowed to submit to the following folders:

The GazettE submissions - deviations that contain something involving all of the band members or a few of them(more than one)
Ruki submissions - deviations featuring this band member
Kai submissions - deviations featuring this band member
Uruha submissions - deviations featuring this band member
Aoi submissions - deviations featuring this band member
Reita submissions - deviations featuring this band member
Other submissions - deviations that don't feature the band members but still have something to do with the band(a deviation inspired by their song, etc.)

When you finish that you'll receive a message in your message center saying that your submission is waiting for the approval(I do that so look carefully to what folder you're submitting).
Once your deviation is approved it will show in our gallery folder and all of the watchers and members will receive it in their deviation inbox(including yours).
We accept all mediums but when it comes to fan-fiction we accept only the 1st chapter.


IMPORTANT:

If you are unable to submit to the folders mentioned above that's probably because of the submission bug that's been around. I would like to ask you to just wait and try to submit later that day.
What happens is that the bug keeps changing the settings so I have to check them out all the time to make sure they are ok.

PLEASE SUBMIT ONLY THE REAL CONTEST ENTRIES TO THE 'CREATE A NEW LOOK FOR THE GAZETTE CONTEST'. If it's not a real entry it will be denied.
